MACHANG - The water supply issue in Kelantan will not be solved if the Air Kelantan Sdn Bhd (AKSB) management is not corrected.

Natural Resources, Environment and Climate Change Minister Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad said large allocations would not solve the issue.

“The allocation is a part of the issue, but there are several things where it has been answered in Parliament previously, Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man was the minister at the time and I was part of the opposition MP, among the issues is AKSB management.

“It was answered and it couldn’t be denied by any individual,” he said when met by reporters after the Madani Townhall @ Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) in Machang here on Thursday.

Nazmi said the government was always prepared to work with the state government in order to help solve the issue.

“The question of allocation can be discussed, but if the management issue isn’t solved no amount of money can solve the water supply issue in Kelantan.

“We must look at the commitment from both parties for us to even attempt in solving this issue,” he said.

Issues of cloudy water, low pressure and even no supply of water in many areas of the state has been reported widely and has been voiced out by the people in the state as one of the major issues in Kelantan
