SHAH ALAM - For Malaysian fitness icon Kevin Zahri, being healthy means being happy with one's overall well-being.

According to him, overall well-being consist of a range of aspects from physical to mental and even spiritual.

Kevin believes that being healthy is an individual choice which means different things to different people.

"My advice is not to follow what others do.

"You can learn from what inspires them and what they do, but at the end of the day, you must find a balance that suits you individually. That balance of happiness which includes your health will change from time to time from your teens to your 20s to your 40s. It's a never ending journey." he explained.

When it comes to a person's physical well-being in relation to their mental health, the 'fitness teacher' suggested that it is not always the same. From his point of view, being overweight does not mean that someone is mentally in a bad place.

On the flip side, he argued that a supermodel is not necessarily in a positive space.

Kevin who is also the father of a rising Malaysian tennis star said that Hollywood would be able to teach a person so many lessons on the definition of wellbeing

"It's not as simple as one or two. I always give people the example of the best weight for you is to take a shower, put away your towel in front of the mirror, and if you're happy with what you see even if you're overweight or instead, if your BMI and all look perfect, but you're not happy with what you see, it doesn't really solve the issue for you." he gave an example

He added that in the end it all comes down to "you versus you" to find a balance of physical well-being, body image and mental health that will be able to make you as happy as you can be.
