Five automakers in S. Korea to recall 229,052 vehicles for defects
SEOUL, South Korea - Five local and foreign automakers in South Korea will voluntarily recall 229,052 vehicles for manufacturing defects, the Transport Ministry said on Wednesday, reported Xinhua.
Kia Motors will recall 190,841 vehicles of the Carnival model for faulty sliding doors, according to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.
Mercedes-Benz Korea will recall 20,547 units of eight models, including the E200d, for lower robustness in the parts of the high-pressure fuel pump.
Hyundai Motor will recall 16,099 units of two models, including Pavise, to fix battery switch design errors in addition to 65 units that have faulty seat belts.
GM Korea will recall 1,467 vehicles of two models, including Bolt EV, for high-voltage battery defects, while Stellantis Korea will recall 33 units of DS4 Crossback 1.5 BlueHDi FCYHZ for the missing bolt fastening in the front bumper.
Vehicles owners can visit the repair and service centres of the companies to replace the faulty parts free of charge, the ministry said. - BERNAMA-XINHUA
