Anwar's institutional reform just an act - Wan Saiful

SHAH ALAM - Former Parti Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) information chief Datuk Wan Saiful Wan Jan has claimed Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's fight for institutional reform is merely an act.

He said if Anwar is honest with his ideas, he will certainly immediately propose a Political Financing Act to give fair allocation to the Parliament regardless of parties, whether the opposition or the government.

However, he said the opposite is happening now, whereas the opposition was asked to negotiate with the Tambun MP first for the allocation.

"Parliament allocations should be given automatically to all elected MPs without having to go through any negotiation.

"Unfortunately, Anwar only acts on the ceramah stage if he wants institutional reform when he has actually failed in its implementation," he said in a Facebook post today.

Recently, the Regent of Pahang, Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, ordered the Pahang government to give a fair allocation to the opposition assemblymen in the state.

Tengku Hassanal said the matter is in line with the political landscape in Malaysia, which has gained independence for almost 66 years.

In the meantime, Wan Saiful added that Anwar's implementation of institutional reform lacked direction and merit.

"Obviously, Anwar is just an actor," he said.
