KOTA KINABALU - Tawau Umno division chief Ghazali Ansing has lodged a police report over several allegations against him, including the allegation of raping his wife's best friend, which was published in a blog on Monday.

He said he lodged the police report to clear his good name and reputation as a politician from the slanderous accusations involving his marital problems.

He said he only heard about the accusations after his friend gave him a link to a blog post titled 'Run Away from Home Exclusive Video, Ghazali Ansing's wife exposes her husband who raped her best friend and their housemaid'.

"There were two photos uploaded in the blogpost, one of my wife with her friend and another of us together, in which the article said they received information that I'm experiencing a marriage crisis because of my gambling habit.

"It also said that I, as Tawau Umno chief, had raped a maid and owned an entertainment club, and they also called me a 'kaki pau'.

"I strongly deny these statements and accusations thrown by my wife and her friend in the post published in that blog.

"A police report has been lodged to deny the allegations because the statement has gone viral and it is really a horrendous accusation," he said in a press conference, here, today.

When asked about the allegation that he was protected by the authorities, Ghazali once again denied the matter.

"I am also an ordinary citizen. When I face such problems, what comes to mind is to go to the nearest police station to lodge a report and ask for help.

"The allegation that I control the authorities is not true. I am a nobody, and I am not even a family member of a police officer," he explained.

In the meantime, he also asked other parties not to turn his marriage crisis into a political subject.

"I request all parties out there not to politicise this situation since this is a domestic problem and I see many parties trying to take advantage of it.

"This is our problem, so let it be resolved nicely without having to politicise it. I am also a politician, and I have never played with anyone's personal issues," he said.

Accordingly, he will leave it to the authorities to conduct an investigation into the matter before taking further action.

"We will wait for the police investigation first before taking any action against the blogger," he said.
