When asked about the proposal, which is not supported by the Malaysian Employers Federation (MEF), Anwar replied, "Not yet, it has not been discussed yet."
He told the media after opening the new EPF headquarters, today.
On May 1, Anwar announced the proposal for EPF contribution rates for employers to be increased to 20 per cent from the present 13 per cent.
He said the proposal was not brought to the Cabinet yet.
However, Malaysia Employers Federation executive director Datuk Shamsuddin Bardan said the proposal should not be implemented.
He said if the proposal was to be implemented then both the employer and the employee must make contribution.
And this will cause a huge increase in cost and would make it difficult for small and medium enterprise (SME) employers and micro business operators.
He said the proposal also needs to be reviewed and refined so that views from all parties were taken into account.
