DAP will discuss on Penang CM post after state election - Loke
MUAR - Any discussions regarding the change of Penang chief minister will be made after the state elections.
DAP Secretary-General Anthony Loke said the party continuously supports current Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow’s leadership.
He said the Penang government is functioning as usual under the leadership of Chow.
"We will discuss the position of the Penang CM when the state polls are around the corner.
"Currently, the Penang State Assembly has yet to be dissolved, and the state government still functions as usual. "DAP still supports Chow’s leadership to continue leading the state," he said.
The transport minister said this during a press conference at the Johor DAP Annual Convention here on Sunday.
Also present were Johor DAP chairman Liew Chin Tong, who is also International Trade and Industry deputy minister, and DAP veteran Lim Kit Siang.
Previously, a news portal claimed there was an internal push in DAP to prevent Chow from becoming the chief minister after the upcoming state election.
The report claimed DAP chairman Lim Guan Eng would return to lead the state government, citing that Chow was ineffective as chief minister.
