Tajuddin confident of appeal to lift his suspension from Umno
PASIR SALAK - Outspoken former Umno Supreme Council member Datuk Seri Tajuddin Abdul Rahman is hoping to receive favourable news on his appeal to lift suspension from the party.
He has expressed desire to continue his service with the party.
“I would like to thank Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi on his statement as there seems to be hope that it will be brought to the Supreme Council.
“If possible, I would like to accelerate it. I have waited for a while and I’m confident it will be a positive outcome,” he said when met at the Raya Open House in his home at Kampung Gajah, here on Sunday.
Tajuddin was suspended in Oct last year and was not chosen to defend his Pasir Salak seat in GE15. In June last year, Tajuddin was sacked from the Malay party's supreme council. He was also dropped as Malaysia's ambassador to Indonesia in July
The former Pasir Salak MP has apologised to Zahid for criticising the party.
“Several appeals were given and yesterday (Saturday) one more appeal letter was written. As the election director and a Supreme Council member it was not wrong as the issues spoken were of the party’s interest.
“Maybe Datuk Seri (Zahid) was offended by those statements. I apologise once again. I want to resolve this issue in a good manner as I love Umno,” he said.
Tajuddin also expressed his willingness in assisting during thei upcoming state elections if he was reinstated as party member.
“If the suspension was lifted and I can become an active member in the party to campaign for Umno. I have extended my hand in friendship, what’s done is done. I hope they will receive this hand in friendship for the party’s sake.
“I’m prepared to face any possibilities whether it is accepted or not. I will not give up on the struggle with Umno,” he said.
