SHAH ALAM - Barisan Nasional (BN) MPs have signed an agreement before becoming candidates for the 15th General Election (GE15) that the seats they contest belong to the party.

Therefore, the Umno Supreme Council member Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan said the claim that some BN MPs will vacate their seats is false.

"Yes, it is true that no BN MPs want to vacate their seats. Furthermore, we have signed an agreement before becoming BN candidates that the seats we contest belong to the party," he said in a tweet on Sunday.

On Saturday, BN Chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi confirmed that no BN parliament members will leave the party. He had said despite rumours of 15 BN MPs wanting to leave the unity government, no such move took place.

Sinar Harian on Friday reported that Anwar had said the plot to overthrow the Unity Government would not succeed even though those involved admitted to having enough statutory declarations (SDs) to form a new government.
