Johor, federal govt committed to ensuring smooth entry, exit at country's borders
JOHOR BAHRU, Malaysia - The administrative structure of the Customs, Immigration and Quarantine (CIQ) Complex at the Sultan Iskandar Building (BSI) and the CIQ at the Sultan Abu Bakar Complex (KSAB) in Iskandar Puteri is among the matters being discussed, in efforts to improve the level of services at land entry and exit points in the state.
Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi said discussions with the Immigration Department also raised the issue of examining the addition of x-ray scanners for bus passengers and a more efficient management system, as well as the addition of passenger buses and the enforcement of bus routes.
"Alhamdulillah. I received a courtesy call from the Immigration director-general, Datuk Ruslin Jusoh. I am grateful for his commitment, and that of the Home Ministry (KDN), to continue to improve the level of services at BSI and KSAB.
"The state government is always ready to cooperate with the federal government to ensure the smooth operation of the country’s borders.
"This is to ensure the well-being of the people and travellers, and to improve the image of Johor and Malaysia in the eyes of the world,” he said in a Facebook post today.
Earlier today, he received a courtesy call from Ruslin at his office in Kota Iskandar.
Also present were state Public Works, Transport and Infrastructure Committee chairman, Mohammad Fazli Salleh and state Immigration Department director, Baharuddin Tahir. - BERNAMA
