Sarawak allocated RM917 million for implementation of 241 projects under Rural and Regional Development Ministry
KOTA SAMARAHAN - The Rural and Regional Development Ministry has allocated RM917 million this year for the implementation of 241 projects in Sarawak.
Its deputy minister, Datuk Rubiah Wang said 38 of them were new projects, while the other 203 were extension projects.
"Of the total projects, 178 are in the pre-implementation stage, 41 are in the implementation stage and the others are in the post-implementation stage or under consideration," she said in a statement today.
Rubiah, who is Kota Samarahan Member of Parliament, said the focus projects included 14 Rural Electricity Supply (BELB) projects involving an allocation of RM170.5 million, 76 rural road projects (RM169 million) and 56 rural water supply projects ( RM136 million).
"The ministry also implements rural bridge projects (30 projects), rural roads (two projects), social amenities (one project), as well as projects and programmes implemented by agencies under KKDW," she added. - BERNAMA
