DAP needs more leaders like Hannah Yeoh, Anthony Loke
SHAH ALAM - More DAP leaders should be seen as individuals who could help the people regardless of race or religion, as this will create a positive image of the party among the Malays.
Former Bangi member of parliament Dr Ong Kian Ming said this would be able to change the perception of the Malay people on DAP whereby the party is claimed to be anti-Malay, anti Islam, among others.
"I'm of the opinion that if there were more leaders like Hannah Yeoh and Anthony Loke, it would somewhat "cool' the image the Malays have on DAP.
"Although it is undeniable, there is a long history where leaders like Lim Kit Sianh have been branded as someone who is anti-Malay and anti-Islam.
"Hence, I believe it will be difficult for the older generation to let go and forget this image," he said during the 15th episode of 'Keluar Sekejap' podcast on Tuesday.
Former Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin and former Umno deputy chief Shahril Sufian Hamdan also participated in the podcast.
