SHAH ALAM - Muafakat Nasional (MN) president Tan Sri Annuar Musa is giving hints that he has established political cooperation with former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad following their meeting that took place today.

In a Facebook post, Annuar said he and Dr Mahathir have agreed to continue with their efforts to strengthen the consensus and unity of the Malays and Bumiputeras in the country.

"We have agreed to continue our efforts to strengthen the consensus and unity of the Malays and Bumiputeras, and to once again make it into the core of the country's politics and administration.

"Apart from that, it is crucial that we nurture this consensus in order to manage our multi-ethnic and multi-religious country well, as done by Dr Mahathir for a long time as prime minister before," he said.

Annuar said the meeting that took place at Dr Mahathir's residence touched on politics particularly the future of the Malays and Bumiputeras in Malaysia, as well as the current political affairs.

"Dr Mahathir has always been passionate when talking about the Malays.

"Even though he and I often have different opinions and political direction, I greatly admire his leadership which had brought so much impact and contribution to the country. He is still wise and sharp thinking," he said.

Last February, it was reported that Annuar would join one of the three parties that had previously made an offer to him.
