Diver Dhabitah weds Jiggy Masin

SHAH ALAM - Local comedian Jiggy Masin, 33, has quietly tied the knot with 23-year-old national diver Nur Dhabitah Sabri.

Jiggy said he and his wife didn't intent to keep their marriage a secret and actually wanted to share the good news at the right time.

"Alhamdulillah, only with one lafaz (saying) I am officially married to Dhabitah last Friday. Our solemnisation ceremony was held in private with 150 guests comprised of family members.

"We had no intention of hiding anything... We simply wanted to keep the promise and trust of both families, to not make a public announcement until everything is certain.

"I would like to apologise to my media friends as I couldn't answer questions about our relationship before this, because as I had mentioned I wanted to keep the promise," he told Gempak.

Sharing about how they met over a year ago, Jiggy said they became friends when they met at a photography session.

"We have known each other for about a year. We were just friends at first since we met at the photography session before.

"After that, we had to shoot for a programme together. So, from there we became closer but we had no plans for marriage back then. But, Alhamdulillah we are fated together," he said.

Meanwhile, Jiggy said they are planning to hold a wedding reception but still haven't decide on a date yet since his wife is scheduled to go to China for a month for a training session.

"The ceremony will be held at Dhabitah's house... Insya-Allah there will be a wedding reception but we are still discussing about it since we are both busy at the moment and Dhabitah also has a big match soon including Olympic, Asian Games.

"She has to go to China for a month for a training session. Once we have decide on a date then Insya-Allah I will update again and invite media friends," he said.

For reference, Jiggy had gotten married with lawyer and actress Elly Ariffin on Sept 9, 2016, but they got divorced in January 2020. - Gempak
