SHAH ALAM - The rakyat and industrialists must unite to overcome the nation's economic crisis, said economist Professor Tan Sri Dr Noor Azlan Ghazali.

He said the responsibility for nation-building does not rest solely on the government as various social classes within the population also bear this responsibility.

Blaming solely the government for the issue at hand is no longer a constructive approach, he added.

“Many are quick to blame the government, blaming the previous and current leaders. Our minds are shackled by narrow boundaries if it’s the government’s fault.

“Those who are shackled more than others will jump to political narratives.

“I am confident that the people, industry or firm owners and the government have a role to bring Malaysia to where it needs to get to. It shouldn’t fall to the government exclusively,” he said this in a Facebook post, today.

Azlan said that although not all the benefits of national development may be enjoyed by the people, Malaysia has a strong foundation and a positive history of development.

He added that it is necessary for all parties to come together and work towards resolving Malaysia's economic crisis.

“Malaysia has a good experience and development foundation. We have the potential to propel ourselves. We have the strength. There’s still room for it but we must begin immediately.

“Let’s ask ourselves, what can we do? Stop arguing. That’s enough, let’s take care of our country together,” he said.
