BALING - Barisan Nasional and Pakatan Harapan (PH) are in the final stage of discussing the seat allocation process for the upcoming state election in Kedah, said Umno president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

"We are close to finalising the seat allocation for the Kedah state election.

"For other states (seat allocation development), I will tell when I am in that state," he said briefly when met after the Walkbout Programme with the Deputy Prime Minister and Rural and Regional Development Minister at Desa Keda Sadek, here, today.

In another development, Zahid said the Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof has held a series of discussions on providing an allocation for opposition Members of Parliament (MPs), but only for their administrative expenses, "It will be finalised, and Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will make the announcement," he said.

When asked if the allocation would continue, he said the government had initially agreed to cover administrative expenses.

Previously, Fadillah was reported by the media as saying that no conditions were set by Perikatan Nasional (PN) during initial discussions on financial allocations for opposition MPs.
