Selangor PN confident to woo 20 per cent non-Malay voters
SHAH ALAM - Selangor Perikatan Nasional (PN) is confident of securing 20 per cent of non-Malay voters in their bid to take control of Selangor in the upcoming state election.
Selangor PN Youth chief Mohamed Sukri Omar said it is not impossible to achieve the target through support and by providing voters with accurate information
He said PN aims to win 30 out of 56 state seats in Selangor.
“To form the Selangor state government PN must win at least 29 seats.
“It can’t be denied that non-Malay majority seats are one of PN’s most difficult mission for us but we are confident (in attracting voters) through the wave of support we are receiving,” he told Sinar, today.
Sukri said PN was capable of leading the states, citing their past performance in leading the federal government, in response to a statement by Bersatu Information chief Datuk Razali Idris on PN needing one fifth of the non-Malay votes to win the state elections in Negeri Sembilan and Selangor.
“In fact, PN displayed the best leadership in the three PN controlled states namely Kelantan Terengganu and Kedah.
“The people must be aware of the significant failure in the PH-BN coalition government in solving people’s problems especially on cost of living,” he said.
