Politically Frank: Syed Saddiq on Unity Government: Room for improvement but too early to pass verdict
SHAH ALAM - Despite not being offered any government posts or appointments, Muda has pledged its unwavering support for the Unity Government.
Muda's president Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman said the party recognises that the Prime Minister has the discretion to make decisions over appointments and posts in the government and respects the prerogative.
"We have given our commitment to support the Prime Minister and we continue to support him," he said during Politically Frank interview with Sinar Daily.
When questioned about the future of Muda, Syed Saddiq expressed confidence in the party's ability to transform Malaysia into a developed nation.
"I want Muda to continue building a truly multiracial and multireligious Malaysia with a focus on a developed, prosperous and unified country," he said.
Syed Saddiq also pointed out that Muda intends to hold discussions with Pakatan Harapan (PH) leadership to strategise for the upcoming state election.
When asked about his views on the performance of Unity Government, Syed Saddiq said there is always room for improvement but added that it is premature to judge at this point.
"There's a lot more to be done better and and much more to improve. However, it's still too early. So let's give time to Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to govern," he said.
"I pray that he will do the best for our beloved country. It is time to make Malaysia a fully developed country. So I wish him all the best," he added.
