Traffic still slow and heavy on major highways this evening

KUALA LUMPUR - Traffic flow is reported to be slow and heavy on major highways, as of 10 this evening, due to the increase in the number of vehicles on the third day of Aidilfitri.

According to a Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM) spokesman, in the north, the traffic flow is heavy southbound from Kepala Batas to Hutan Kampung, Alor Setar Utara to Gurun, Sungai Petani Utara to Bertam and Bukit Tambun to Jawi.

"In addition, heavy traffic is also reported from Bandar Baharu to Sungai Perak, Simpang Pulai to the rest and service area (R&R) Tapah, Hentian Ladang Bikam to Sungkai and Tanjung Malim to Rawang.

"Slow and heavy traffic is also reported northbound from Tapah to Simpang Pulai, Ipoh Utara to Sungai Perak, Kuala Kangsar to R&R Bukit Gantang and Changkat Jering to Jawi,” he said.

Meanwhile, LLM tweeted that similar traffic conditions were reported on the Kuala Lumpur-Karak Expressway Kuala Lumpur-bound, from Karak Interchange to Lentang, and Bukit Tinggi to Gombak.
