PN yet to finalise 'Poster Boy' candidate for Penang state election
TAMBUN - Despite rumours of a "poster boy" candidate, Ahmad Faizal Azumu, the deputy chairman of Perikatan Nasional (PN) said a candidate who will represent the coalition in the upcoming Penang state election has not been chosen yet.
He added that various parties can voice their opinions on the matter.
"The poster boy for Penang will certainly come from PN candidate but as of now we are yet to decide.
"There are indeed many parties who have given suggestions but the leadership has not made any decision about it," he said at a Raya open house held at Tambun Heights, here, today.
Faizal said this when asked to comment on speculations that PN will introduce a new Malay candidate as the 'poster boy' in Penang state election.
He also expressed confidence that the state elections will be held simultaneously as he expects the dissolution of the six states' state assemblies to be held at the same time.
He said such action was welcomed to help ease the work of the Election Commissioner (EC) in carrying out the election and to make it easier for voters who have to return to their hometown. - Awani
