Modi conveys Aidilfitri greetings to Anwar and people of Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR - India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi has conveyed his Hari Raya Aidilfitri greetings to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and the people of Malaysia.

Modi, through a personal letter to his Malaysian counterpart Anwar conveyed that over the last one month, Muslims in India, Malaysia and across the globe have observed the holy month of Ramadan and spent time in fasting, charity and praying, while sharing that "over 200 million Muslims in India also celebrated their faith with compassion, love and togetherness”.

"On the occasion of the holy festival of Eid-al-Fitr, Modi through a personal letter to Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Prime Minister of Malaysia, extended, on his own behalf and on behalf of the people and the Government of India, warm greetings to the Prime Minister of Malaysia and the people of Malaysia," said a press release by India’s High Commission in Malaysia.

The Indian prime minister prayed for greater harmony, peace and solidarity among all across the world on the occasion of the holy festival of Eid-al-Fitr. Modi also expressed his confidence in the continued friendly relations between India and Malaysia and wished Anwar good health and well-being, adding that this will be Anwar's first Eid-al-Fitr celebration after his appointment as the 10th Prime Minister of Malaysia. - BERNAMA
