KUALA LUMPUR - Tan Sri Michelle Yeoh says she had to travel a long and exhausting road before winning an Oscar.

“It was a roller-coaster ride that started last year when Everything Everywhere All at Once came out in March last year.

“Finally, closer to the end of the year we heard mumblings that our movie had such great opportunities to be nominated”, she said during a press conference at the Pavilion Kuala Lumpur Hotel, today.

She explained that it was the first time she felt any possibility of being seated at the table to discuss why these kinds of roles are crucial for people who “look like us”.

She continued by saying that throughout her career, she received a lot of love and support from her fans.

“I thank all of you for having been on that journey with me because it was a difficult and long journey," said Yeoh while choking on emotions.

This marks her first return to Malaysia since winning an Oscar.

She is scheduled to meet her fans at the Pavilion Kuala Lumpur and Berjaya Times Square later at 5.30pm and 7.15pm respectively.
