KUALA LUMPUR - The Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM) had submitted two alternatives involving various grades for the application of additional contract positions throughout the country.

Its chief commissioner Aminurrahim Mohamed said the two alternatives are for Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) holders and below as well as up to management and professional group.

He said the Prime Minister's Department (JPM) had requested for the additional contract staffing to be more optimal for government investment.

"We have also been asked to provide a budget estimate if it involves SPM level and below or up to Bachelor's degree," he told reporters after launching Op Prihatin APM in conjunction with Aidilfitri 2023 at the Sungai Besi Toll Plaza here last night.

On February, APM has requested that the government consider 1,501 contract positions nationwide to complete the agency's assignment requirements.

Meanwhile, he said Op Prihatin was a continuation of Op Bantu which was launched 11 years ago and it would be carried out from today until May 1. - BERNAMA
