Man verbally abuses mother, assaults brother with knife, hose arrested

Cops says checks found the suspect had three criminal and drug-related records.
KUALA LUMPUR - A man verbally abused his mother for taking too long to come out from the bathroom in an incident at a house in Jalan 1/112A Taman Bukit Angkasa here on Saturday.
The suspect then hit brother with a rubber hose, a knife, and an iron rod.
Brickfields Police chief Amihizam Abdul Shukor said the incident took place at about 4pm.
"The victim, aged 24, suffered injuries and bruises on the back of the body, right shoulder, and left hand.
"The suspect, aged 23, was arrested immediately after the incident," he said in a statement on Sunday.
He said a check found that the suspect had three criminal and drug-related records.
"In addition, the police seized weapons believed to have been used by the suspect to injure his brother," he said, adding that the suspect is now remanded for four days under Section 117 of the Criminal Procedure Code.
"The case is being investigated under Section 324 of the Penal Code," he said.
