Security guard arrested for alleged sexual harassment against 14-year-old teen
NILAI - A security guard who allegedly sexually harassed a 14-year-old teenager at an apartment here has been arrested by police on Saturday.
Nilai district police chief superintendent Abdul Malek Hasim said the man in his 50s was arrested at the apartment and was remanded for seven days for further investigation.
"The suspect was a local man, and the court allowed his remand until April 22.
"The case is being investigated under Section 14 (a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017 and further investigations are being conducted," he told Sinar on Sunday.
Sinar Harian previously reported the incident, which occurred at 4pm when the victim was chatting with her friends in front of the apartment elevator.
The suspect approached the victim, who suddenly asked for her friends to return home.
The suspect was reported to have offered the victim a lift back home, touched several parts of the victim’s body, and asked for a kiss on his cheek.
