KUALA LUMPUR - Opposition leader Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin says it is "unfair" to narrow down Perikatan Nasional's struggles to just race and religion as its 26 portfolio committees raise issues on cost of living and defence.

"We raise questions on everything. We talk about defence, cost of living, and economic matters of this country," he pointed out.

"Tell your editors Hamzah do not want to answer because the question has not been fair to me," he said.

On this opinion over unity government's performance, Hamzah however had a lot to say.

He said majority were not happy, based on his observation on people's reaction on social media.

"I personally feel that they are not doing their job well. A real government that look after the people do not play politics," Hamzah told in a Politically Frank interview with Sinar Daily.

He also expressed his will to be a credible opposition, who gives out opinion and able to tell the government on what's right or wrong.

"Yes, you are the government but we build the nation together which means the idea should come from both sides," he said.

Previously, Hamzah revealed that appointment of Perikatan Nasional (PN) MPs as heads of portfolios does not equate to the formation of a shadow cabinet.

He said that while each portfolio had an MP as the leader, the MP would be assisted by a task force of Perikatan MPs.

Hamzah said that the appointed "head" MP and his team would monitor issues and voice out concerns linked to a specific ministry they are assigned to.
