PUTRAJAYA - Human Resource Minister V.Sivakumar has been summoned by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) over the investigation into the agency following the arrest of three individuals including two of the ministry’s officers, last week.

A source told Sinar Harian that the minister was present at the MACC office, here at about 10am, today.

“He was present to assist in the investigations by MACC following the arrest of three individuals including two of his officers last week,” the source said.

MACC chief commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki on Thursday confirmed that Sivakumar’s private secretary was arrested.

The arrest was made by MACC at about 2.30am after the arrest of Sivakumar’s special task officer.

It was reported that Sivakumar’s special task officer was arrested after the latter was believed to be a “runner” collecting bribes from certain agents to be given quotas for hiring foreign workers.

However, the investigations on the claims were still ongoing.
