'So far I have not been called by MACC', says Sivakumar
KUALA LUMPUR - Human Resources Minister V Sivakumar confirmed that he has not been summoned by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) so far following the arrest of his senior officials.
Sivakumar said that he would cooperate, including giving a statement if requested by the MACC.
"... haven't been called, if called I'm willing to go to give evidence," he told reporters after the Hi-Tea ceremony with Indian Community Non-Governmental Organisation Leaders in conjunction with the Chithirai Phutandu 2023 Celebration on Saturday.
He said this commenting on the arrest of his senior officials believed to be related to irregularites in the hiring foreign workers.
Sivakumar said that MACC is currently conducting an investigation into the matter.
"Myself and all the officials at the Ministry of Human Resources (KSM) are ready to give cooperation, as in the speech of the Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim yesterday that the MACC is carrying out their responsibilities and it is my duty and responsibility and all the members of the KSM to give any cooperation.
"In terms of principle, I fully support the implementation of the law based on justice and truth in this investigation, there is no problem," he said.
