KOTA BHARU - Umno views the upcoming state election in the six states as the first 'litmus test' for the Barisan Nasional (BN) and Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalition.

Umno secretary-general Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dasuki said the party believed the state election can become a platform to further strengthen the Unity Government.

"After six months of its establishment, the Unity Government needs to be more stable. This is to enable the people to benefit in terms of economy, social development and so on," he said in a press conference, here, yesterday.

Prior to that, he was celebrating Kelantan media practitioners at the Make Colek Bersama Kelab Media Kelantan Darul Naim (Kemudi) event.

He said Malaysia is far behind neighboring countries due to political disputes of more than four years ago.

However Ashraf stressed that the state election can't be used to measure the Unity Government's formula as not all matters can be resolved within four to six months.

In another development, Asyraf said the relationship between the Unity Government parties is very good at the moment.

He added that the good relationship was built through the Unity Government Secretariat between BN and PH.
