Double Six tragedy: 'My father not entirely to be blamed', says pilot's son

SHAH ALAM - The double six tragedy pilot's son says his father Gandhi J Nathan should not bare full responsibility of the 1976 Sabah crash that killed the then Sabah chief minister Tun Fuad Stephens and 10 others.
Nizam Gandhi said the airline should hold bigger responsibility in ensuring the aircraft followed guidelines.
"The pilot is not fully responsible as the airline has to prepare the airline load documents before take off," he said as cited from The Star today.
Yesterday, the Transport Ministry made the final report of the plane crash documents public after the government agreed to declassify the report.
The report said it was the pilot's fault for not following proper standard operating procedures in addition to the airline not adhering to its professional handling measures.
It was also mentioned that Gandhi had a bad history in operating planes.
The report was jointly prepared by the Malaysia Civil Aviation Authority, Royal Malaysian Air Force and Australia Transport Department.
