'Don't try to create drama, it will look less smart', Sim tells Sanusi
SHAH ALAM - Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor is reminded not to create drama or escalate issues regarding the appointment of National Finance Council members.
Bayan Baru MP Sim Tze Tzin said the appointments of National Finance Council members were clear under Article 108 of the Federal Constitution.
Sim tweeted earlier, that one of the constitution’s provisions is that members of the council also consist of a representative from each state appointed by the King or state of Yang di-Pertua.
"The constitution is very clear regarding the appointment of National Finance Council members.
"Sanusi should not create drama; it will seem less smart," he said in a tweet on Monday.
Article 108 of the Federal Constitution sets up the National Finance Council, which must be led by the prime minister or any minister appointed and one representative from each state appointed by the King or the state Yang di-Pertua, he added.
The media on Sunday reported Sanusi claiming that there were planned efforts to remove him as Menteri Besar representing Kedah in the National Finance Council.
However, Sanusi refused to reveal the parties he claimed to be involved in the effort.
He also said there are efforts to name Kedah government secretary Datuk Norizan Khazali as his successor in the National Finance Council.
