Police arrest rogue driver who damaged lorry

BUKIT MERTAJAM - Police have arrested the driver of a red Proton Saga after he allegedly acted aggressively by damaging a lorry, as seen in viral footage, here, yesterday.
Seberang Perai Tengah district police chief Assistant Commissioner Tan Cheng San said the local man in his late 30s,was arrested and investigated under Section 427 of the Penal Code.
A preliminary investigation found that the incident occurred at Jalan Pematang Janggus heading towards Permatang Pauh yesterday, but the time of the incident could not be determined.
"In the viral video, a red Proton Saga car and a lorry were seen driving closely together, almost colliding with each other.
"The drivers of both vehicles had eventually stopped and started fighting.
"The car driver was seen removing an object from the back of his car before hitting the front plate number of the lorry," he said in a statement, here, today.
On Saturday, two minutes and 50 seconds of video of the incident had gone viral.
The video uploaded by the Twitter account 'nan manjoi' received various reactions from netizens.
Meanwhile, Tan advised the public not to act against the law and disrupt the public's peace.
