Political leader who uses fake 'Datuk' title is under investigation

AMPANG - Police have recorded statements from a political party division leader who uses a fake 'Datuk' title for business and personal purposes.

Ampang Jaya district police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohamad Farouk Eshak who confirmed this, said the police are now waiting for further instruction.

"It is done, so now we wait for the Deputy Public Prosecutor's instructions for further action," he told Sinar today.

Previously, a local portal revealed that a political leader was accused of using a fake Darjah Kebesaran Istana Pahang title.

Ampang division Umno Youth representative Mohammad Afiq Tahar lodged a police report on March 7 after finding elements of fraud by the said individual.

Afiq said his party received the list of Darjah Kebesaran Negeri Pahang, which was awarded from the Pahang government's secretary office on March 23.

The letter confirms that the individual was not awarded any Darjah Kebesaran medal by Istana Pahang.
