Malaysia calls for international community to demand stop to Israeli forces' crimes, release Palestinian detainees
SHAH ALAM - Malaysia calls upon the international community to hold the Israeli regime accountable and responsible for the heinous crimes, and for them to release all Palestinian detainees immediately.
This was following attacks by the Israeli forces on Palestinian worshippers at the Al-Aqsa Mosque complex in occupied East Jerusalem.
In a tweet, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has asked the international community to demand the Israeli regime to immediately stop any provocative acts in the interest of peace and stability.
"Malaysia calls upon the international community, in particular the United Nations Security Council to hold the Israeli regime accountable and responsible for the heinous crimes, and for them to release immediately all Palestinian detainees.
"The international community must demand the Israeli regime to immediately stop any provocative acts in the interest of peace and stability," he wrote, today.
Anwar said Malaysia will continue to stand in strong solidarity with the people of Palestine and reiterated the status of Al-Quds Al-Sharif as the holy site of the Muslim Ummah.
It was earlier reported that the Israeli forces on Wednesday stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque for the second night in a row and assaulted Palestinian worshippers at the site.
Witnesses told an international news agency that the Israeli forces attacked the Palestinians inside the Al-Qibli Prayer Hall after the tarawih prayers, fired stun grenades and beat Palestinian worshippers.
The Israeli forces also detained around 350 worshippers from inside the mosque.
