Former Baling MP Azeez appointed as Keda chairman
JITRA - Rural and Regional Development Ministry will appoint former Baling MP Datuk Seri Abdul Azeez Rahim as Kedah Regional Development Authority (Keda) chairman.
This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi during the Kedah Ramadan Santuni Kasih Ceremony at Al-Aqla Mosque, Pekan Jitra, here on Wednesday.
The Rural and Regional Development Minister said Azeez will replace former Kedah Umno chairman Datuk Seri Jamil Khir Baharom for the post.
"Under the ministry, we have the Regional Development Board that covers areas outside the Youth Agricultural Development Board (Mada) which is a catalyst for development in rural areas in Kedah," he said during his speech at the ceremony.
He hoped several agencies under the ministry and the state government would be linked effectively.
In August 2022, Jamil was as Keda chairman replacing Industry and Investment, Science, Technology and Innovation and Higher Education Exco Datuk Dr Ku Abd Rahman Ku Ismail.
