JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo has named Ario Bimo Nandito Ariotedjo or Dito Ariotedjo as his new youth and sports minister.
Dito Ariotedjo from the Golkar Party replaces Zainudin Amali, who resigned on March 13 after being elected as the Indonesian Football Association vice chairman.
The 32-year-old politician’s inauguration took place on Monday at the Presidential Palace in central Jakarta.
Previously, Dito Ariotedjo was appointed Indonesia’s Chef de Mission for Buenos Aires 2018 Youth Olympic Games.
Joko Widodo had instructed him to prepare Indonesian athletes for the Cambodia 2023 Southeast Asian Games and Asian Games, and transform the country’s sport ecosystem at all levels. - BERNAMA
