SHAH ALAM - The World #QuranHour 1444H programme is described as a platform to invite the community to read the Quran at least for one hour in their daily lives.

Qari (Quran reciter) Ahmad Tarmizi Abdul Rahman said no matter how busy a person could be, reading and appreciating the contents of the Quran should be practiced by each individual.

"I have been following the #QuranHour since it was first organised and I surely can't wait for this programme to be held as it encourages people to be closer to the Quran.

"The programme is highly beneficial to the public, especially the younger generation as it invites the public to spend at least an hour to recite the Quran.

"It is hoped that the programme will continue to open the hearts of Malaysians and the rest of the world to appreciate the true meaning of the Quran in their daily lives," he told Sinar Harian, today.

Warisan Ummah Ikhlas Foundation (WUIF), the organiser of the programme had selected Surah Al-Insan as the theme surah for the World #QuranHour 1444H programme, this year.

The programme will be broadcasted live from the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) from noon to 1pm on April 13.
