PM's visit to Saudi Arabia: Opposition motion rejected at Dewan Rakyat
KUALA LUMPUR - Machang MP Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal reveals that a motion on Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's alleged failure to Saudi Arabia was rejected in the Dewan Rakyat.
The Perikatan Nasional (PN) international affairs committee head said although the question during the Prime Minister's Question and Answer Time (PMQT) was rejected, the opposition had prepared an emergency motion.
"I had attended the PMQT session this morning, as challenged by the Community Communications Department (KOM) director Datuk Dr Mohammad Agus Yusoff.
"Unfortunately, my question about Tambun MP's official visit to Saudi Arabia was rejected. It's a pity that an opportunity to get an explanation was missed.
"But I have prepared a backup plan, which is an Emergency Motion in Meeting Rules 18(1) and (2)," he said on a Facebook post today.
Previously, the media reported that the opposition will submit a motion to request an explanation about the purpose of the visit, which allegedly gave a huge blow to Malaysia.
Wan Ahmad Fayhsal said the people need to know the outcome of the visit.
"Taxpayers have the right to know what is happening in Saudi Arabia, who is responsible and how much the trip had cost," he said.
