KANGAR - Three siblings believed to be victims of abuse were found with their legs chained on the side of the road on Jalan Kampung Tambun Tulang, Simpang Empat here, on Friday.

Kangar police chief Assistant Commissioner Yusharifuddin Mohd Yusop said the victims aged between 13 to 16 years old were found by the public who then reported it to the police.

"When they were found, two of the victims were chained together at their legs while the other one was not chained.

"They are believed to have been locked up and chained in the house by their mother who lives with them before they decided to escape because they could not stand being treated like that," he told reporters today.

However, Yusharifuddin informed that the police were still conducting investigations to collect more information since the victims refused to speak.

He said a police check found that the two victims were disabled and held an (OKU) card.

They are believed to have hearing and learning problems.

He added that the three victims are currently undergoing examination and treatment at Tuanku Fauziah Hospital and were reported to be in stable condition.

"I was informed that the 16-year-old victim had injuries on both hands and I am still waiting for the reports of the two other siblings," he said.
