Skeletal remains found washed up on riverbank
ZULHISHAM ISAHAKKLUANG - A man who went fishing was shocked to see skeletal remains by the river near Ladang Tereh Mill, here on Thursday.
Kluang district police chief Assistant Commissioner Bahrin Mohd Noh said the man found the body at 6pm before lodging a reported at the Paloh police station at 8.30pm.
“The incident occurred at the riverbank at Ladang Tereh Mill which was under the jurisdiction area of the Paloh police station.
“The unidentified body was found at the riverbank approximately 1.8 metres away.
“The body was in a state of decomposition and the skeleton was visible,” he said in a statement, today.
Bahrin said an investigation was conducted on the body by the forensics team. There were also a blue T-shirt and a long sleeve sweater found at the scene.
He added that no identification document was found on the victim.
He said the body was sent to the Enche Besar Hajjah Khalsom Hospital here for an autopsy and the case was classified as a sudden death report (SDR).
