Prasarana: Rail, bus services record one million passengers on March 21
SHAH ALAM - Prasana Malaysia Berhad (Prasarana) records the highest number of passengers amounting to one million on March 21.
This, Prasarana said was the highest daily number since the country transitioned to the endemic phase.
It said this was a leap from the average of 846,000 passengers daily from Jan 1 to March 15.
It said from the number, the Rapid Rail Sdn Bhd (Rapid Rail) services recorded 767,000 passengers while Rapid Bus Sdn Bhd (Rapid Bus) recorded 235,000, the highest figure for bus services since the pandemic.
"Before Covid-19 hit the country in early 2020, about 1.2 million people used the Prasarana services daily,” it said in a statement, today.
It said the figure of one million passengers per day included an average of 100,000 passengers who used the Putrajaya Line Mass Transit Transit services since it was launched by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim last week (March 16).
"Passengers now get to enjoy free fares for the Putrajaya Line MRT, including on the feeder bus service for the Putrajaya Line MRT from Damansara to Putrajaya Sentral, until March 31.
"Prasarana thanks all passengers who use the services provided and will continue with efforts to ensure safety, smoothness and stability of the services are maintained for the benefit of the public," it said.
