SHAH ALAM - The former Astro Malaysia Holdings Berhad chief executive officer Datuk Rohana Rozhan has returned US$10 million linked to the 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) sovereign wealth fund to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).

According to a source, all the money, including assets, was handed over to the anti graft commission after it had completed its investigation.

"The investigation revealed that Rohana had no knowledge of the source of the funds linked to the misappropriation of 1MDB funds, which were sent by former Goldman Sachs Inc partner Tim Leissner," the report says.

"Accordingly, she voluntarily returned the entire fund and assets to the Malaysian government," a source told Sinar Harian.

The source added that the investigation into Rohana's involvement with the 1MDB funds was completed and there will be no follow-up legal actions against her.

Meanwhile, MACC chief commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki has confirmed that the money had been returned when contacted.

"Up until now, RM28.93 billion in assets linked to 1MDB have been returned. This is approximately 70 per cent," he said.

In February last year, the former chief executive officer of a firm was confirmed to have been summoned by MACC for further investigation.
