Puteri Sarah determined for a divorce, refuses to reconcile

SHAH ALAM - The Conciliation Committee (JKP) session involving Syamsul Yusof and Puteri Sarah Liyana at the Federal Territories Islamic Religious Department (Jawi) has failed to find a suitable solution to the issues plaguing the couple.

Sarah admitted she was tired with the turmoil and is determined to divorce refusing to reconcile.

"I stand with my decision to divorce and I don't want to reconcile. Just let me go, enough of this I am tired," she said.

The 38-year-old actressis adamant to go through with the divorce while Syamsul and has left it up to the second mention in the Kuala Lumpur Sharia Lower Court on April 10.

Sarah represented by her sister Dr Puteri Sofea pleaded for the almost two hour JKP session to be done separately as she did not want to face Syamsul.

"I choose not to see and share a room with Syamsul today (Friday). My sister and I only wanted to see the officer appointed to tell our side regarding our household conflict with proof.

"I think the Jawi officers must know what happened to ensure there is a solution.

"I have stated to the officer that I don't want to stay with him as I am tired with the problems I have faced throughout these years," she explained.

Local media have reported that Syamsul was prepared to consider Sarah's request to let her go if she wanted to meet face to face.

"Insya-Allah what's important is that we meet. I agree and hope that we can resolve our family problems amicably," he said when met after the JKP session.

The controversial director stated his disappointment when he could not meet Sarah directly to reconcile.

"I hoped today I could meet Sarah, but the process was done separately," he said.

Syamsul arrived at Jawi around 9.35am on Friday for the session with his first wife Sarah through the JKP.

On March 7, the pair were ordered by the Kuala Lumpur Syariah Lower Court to appoint a JKP representative in their divorce application case.
