Johor Islamic dept, cops hunt followers of 'The Hulk'
ISKANDAR PUTERI - The Johor Islamic Religious Department (JAINJ) and the cops are on the hunt for a deviant group, The Hulk after a viral clip showing them insulting Islam and Prophet Muhammad.
State Islamic Religious Affairs Exco Mohd Fared Mohd Khalid said the department received reports over the viral Tik Tok video on Monday.
In July 2021, he said the Johor Fatwa Committte had decided that The Hulk and iys teaching founded by Suhaini Mohammad were misguided, deviant and contrary to Islam.
"In the viral video, it could be heard as if Shia teachings were being preached but it is of The Hulk," he said, adding that the group was banned two years ago.
In a press conference today at Bangunan Sultan Ismail, Kota Iskandar, he said the state government has given a stern warning to perpetrators in the video and any party to stop spreading the teachings or face legal action.
The one minute and 17 seconds video showed four men who claimed to support The Hulk read several verses where among them had said Prophet Muhammad is God.
In the meantime, Fared said there are at least 21 deviant groups detected in Johor.
Among them are Ismail Arifin@lepat, Hizbut Tahrir, Azman Samat, Millah Abraham and Layar Bahtera group.
"Any Muslim, whether individually or in a group are prohibited and forbidden from following these deviant beliefs and teachings.
"Therefore, these beliefs and teachings must be stopped by all means from spreading in Johor and repent," he said.
