The traffic congestion problem happening in big cities in the country, especially in Klang Valley is not a new thing.

For example, there has been no changes at Jalan Klang Lama heading to Petaling Jaya since 40 years ago.

Even when the road had been widened and an elevated track had been built over the existing railway line, road congestion still happen especially during peak hours.

The increasing elevated roads and highways built in Klang Valley have failed to address the road congestion issue.

Due to so many tolls in the new roads, most road users prefer to drive through the old roads.

There are also road users who can't afford to spend as much as RM20 a day or RM400 per month to go to office using the route with tolls.

The easiest way to go to work is by motorcycle but it is risky as the number of accidents involving motorcycles is very high.

If not due to their own mistakes, then accidents may happen due to other people's negligence.

Additionally, impatient drivers who like to cut lines also contribute to road congestion, especially at road junctions.

No one wants to spend hours of their day in traffic jams.

Moreover, public transport in Klang Valley is still not efficient enough and there is still room for improvement.

In addition to long waiting periods, transit from one station to another should have not take a long time or even long distances to exchange stations.

Accordingly, the government's move to form a Cabinet Committee to formulate comprehensive and thorough measures to address the traffic congestion issue is commendable.

It is hoped that the committee can come up with thoughtful ideas and translate the ideas into comprehensive actions to address the issue.

Road users are exhausted and in distress due to the congestion issue where some even say we spent a lot of our lives on road.
