Government calls on manufacturers to join 'Jualan Rahmah'
ALOR GAJAH - The government encourages more manufacturing industry players to join the Jualan Rahmah initiative to help reduce the cost of living for the people.
Deputy Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister Senator Fuziah Salleh said the government has received many enquiries from manufacturing industry players to participate in the initiative.
"We have queries from the industry players (regarding this Jualan Rahmah), but when it comes to the food industry, they have their own price structure.
"This price structure will have an effect on supermarkets and manufacturers need to solve the problem of the price structure first,” she told reporters at the Jualan Rahmah Kasih Sayang programme with Julie’s, here, today.
Meanwhile, Fuziah said there is no need to re-establish the Special Task Force on Jihad Against Inflation since the government already has its own implementation team.
She said the team would scrutinise the decision made by the National Action Council on Cost of Living (NACCOL) to reduce the cost of living for the people due to economic uncertainty.- BERNAMA
