'Government focused on multiracial issues won't solve problems faced by Malays' - Tun M
SHAH ALAM - In his latest tirade against the government, former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has claimed with a Malay leadership that focussed on multiracial issues, the problems face by the Malays will not be solved.
The Malay Proclamation Secretariat Advisor said the Malay issues could only be overcome by those with a truly Malay spirit.
"The government is currently a multiracial one led by Malays and its members are mostly Malay.
"These Malay members and leadership are not focusing on the Malay issues as that would be defined as racist.
"Multiracial meant preference for advanced and capable races," he claimed through a note to the Malays dated March 10, 2023.
The note was uploaded on the Malay Proclamation Secretariat chairman Datuk Marzuki Yahya's Facebook page on Monday.
Dr Mahahtir explained that Malays that were poor and less fortunate (lacking business efficiency, capital, not in the network, low education and others) will not receive any of the opportunities created by the government.
"Today, due to how poor the Malays are, they sold their land. Penang was stated to have more Malays than Chinese, but the land ownership difference was only two per cent on the island.
"It is time for us to band together and reach a resolution together to defend the survival of our nation and homeland," he said.
