Wan Rosdy, Khaled and Johari officially Umno's three vice presidents
KUALA LUMPUR - Pahang Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail, Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin and Federal Territories Umno chairman Datuk Seri Johari Abdul Ghani have officially won the three Umno vice presidents positions for the 2023-2026 term.
The announcement was made by the Umno Election Committee chairman Tan Sri Shahrir Ab Samad at the Dato’ Onn Tower, here, on Sunday.
“Wan Rosdy obtained the highest votes of 124 while Johari garnered 107 votes.
The previous incumbent Khaled retained his post with 114 votes,” he said.
The Umno permanent chairman post was won by Tan Sri Badruddin Aminuddin after gaining 176 votes while the deputy was won by Datuk Seri Abdul Fattah Abdullah with 127 votes.
Shahrir added 187 of 191 party divisions were involved with the elections while four divisions being Kota Kinabalu, Tanah Merah, Beluran and Johor Baru needed to hold a new meeting.
“However, the elections for the four divisions will not influence the votes at the highest level of Umno as it only involves their branches,” he said.
In another development, he stated he has given all divisions three days to submit objections if they had any.
“We have received one objection but I think we will get even more soon,” he said.
