IPOH - Perak Umno have sent a list of 50 alleged 'saboteurs' to the party's Disciplinary Board for action to be taken over offences against the party in the 15th general election (GE15).

Perak Umno chairman Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad said all 50 reported were Perak Umno members.

He said there were Umno members that were sacked due to such action.

“I remember from Larut (Umno division) there were 17 sacked and several other areas some members were sacked too.

“The rest we will wait for the party’s management committee to decide who will be sacked,” he told reporters after officiating the Perak State Level Women’s Day Celebration at the Seri Ridzuan Site, here, on Sunday.

Saarani said those listed clearly were aiding opposition parties campaigning.

He said if there were Umno members who became candidates, supporters or opposition proposers they will automatically be kicked out of the party as stated in the constitution.

Saarani on Saturday, during his Lenggong Umno Division Representative Meeting, revealed the sabotage was identified as the main factor for Perak Umno losing in GE15.
