Unofficial Results: Pahang's Wan Rosdy, Johor's Khaled leading Umno veep race so far

KUALA LUMPUR - Pahang Umno chief Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail is ahead of seven other challengers in the party election competition for the vice-president posts.

Based on unofficial results at 4.40pm, Wan Rosdy who is also a member of the Umno Supreme Council is currently leading with six votes.

He is followed by the incumbent Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin with four votes.

The unofficial results also showed three other candidates, Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Law and Institutional Reform) Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said; Umno Supreme Council member Datuk Seri Johari Abdul Ghani and Kepala Batas MP Datuk Seri Reezal Merican Naina Merican with two votes each.

So far Padang Terap Umno chief Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid and Simpang Renggam member of Parliament Datuk Seri Hasni Mohamad have gained one vote each.

Another candidate, Umno member for Iskandar Puteri division, Mohd Yusof Musa@Jamaludin has yet to receive any votes as of now.

The competition for positions in the Umno Election for the term 2023-2026 began after the candidate registration period was officially closed on Feb 26.

Umno elections ends today with the contests of three vice president posts and 25 supreme council seats.
